Our Story

Our story started in the month of August 2021. Emilio was going through fall camp at Oberlin College while Taylor was getting ready to start work again after summer break. Taylor and Emilio matched on Facebook dating and went on to talk for a couple of weeks. One night, after Taylor told Emilio that she was having a bad day, Emilio offered to come over. After hanging out that night, Emilio kept coming back over to spend time with Taylor. Admittedly, Taylor was not fond of a relationship at first. No matter how much she tried to push him away, he kept showing up for her. At the end of 2021, Taylor and Emilio planned a trip to North Carolina for her to meet his mom, dad, family, and friends. Meeting Emilio’s family gave Taylor the reassurance that she needed to pursue the relationship further and decided Emilio truly made life better with him in it. From that point on, they were inseparable. Emilio moved in and Taylor signified this by giving him his own toothbrush. Now that you know a bit of what started our journey, we will tell you about the most important things that have shaped our relationship in the past 4 years.

On February 2nd, 2022, after a couple months of us being together, Emilio got a call from his mom that his dad passed away. He got on a plane and went back home for a little while. Taylor flew alone for the first time to be with Emilio during his grieving .She stayed for a couple of days so that she could be with him during that tough time. Even though this was a hard time for Emilio, it gave us the opportunity to look back at a lot of memories of Emilio’s childhood and his life growing up. After losing Emilio’s dad, it made us realize that our relationship was strong enough to be able to get through even the toughest of times.

After this, our relationship grew stronger and we became closer to each other. There was no Taylor without Emilio, and no Emilio without Taylor. After celebrating many birthdays, a college graduation, a preschool graduation, an eventful Catalina Wine Mixer, a trip to NC and Myrtle Beach with the kids, a puppy named Blu…and you guessed it, finding out about our little bundle of joy, Leo. Fast forward a couple months later to Taylor’s mom’s 50th birthday celebration, we also planned a gender reveal towards the end of the night and found out that our Leo was a boy!

The months flew by, we were showered with love from both of our families. On March 28th, 2023, our son, Emilio “Leo” Macho Sierra Jr. was born. Our relationship was tested by countless sleepless nights, late night bottles and blowouts. As time went on, we fell in love with our family that we created together. In the following months, Emilio was secretly planning out his biggest surprise yet, proposing to Taylor. After countless times of Emilio “going to school” (going to the jeweler), he finally had the ring picked out and planned out a “vacation”, including both of their parents and our kids.

On June 29th, 2023, Emilio finally had the opportunity to execute the plan he had been creating for months. We started our day by getting ready and heading to Broadway at the beach. After shopping our hearts out we decided to go back to the condo and take a nap before dinner. Of course we woke up late and Taylor couldn’t pick an outfit to wear. After finally getting out of the door we headed to the Melting Pot. We had an amazing dinner but Emilio was definitely acting weird. He rushed us out of the door after dinner and raced us to Myrtle Beach State park. After parking he rushed us down the beach where there was a beautiful picnic set up and a photographer. After taking a couple pictures the photographer asked Taylor for some pictures of just her. When she turned around Emilio was down on one knee. Taylor said “YES!” and we partied the night away.

After the high of being engaged wore off, we decided to focus on becoming home owners. After countless house tours, disappointment of being outbid, and on the verge of giving up, we found our future home. We closed on our home early April 2024. After countless hours of blood, sweat, and tears, and tons of support from family, we were able to officially move in on June 15th, 2024. While our house isn’t perfect it’s been the center of many important moments. Leo took his first steps in our living room,Emilio graduated college and started a new job, the girls started at a brand new school and of course, we found out about our biggest surprise yet, our baby girl.

The months crawled by as Taylor grew little Landry. We soaked in our time as a family of five for a couple months before Taylor had the idea to have a wedding! So that led to Taylor spending the day making calls, doing tons of research and ultimately the start of our wedding planning adventure. Slowly one by one the vendors were booked. Taylor tried on dresses at five months pregnant but still managed to find one she loved. After the main vendors were booked we shifted our focus on finishing up things to welcome our baby girl home. Landry Taylor Sierra was born 5/13/25. Our family was complete and we were over the moon. Shortly after recovering from a c section, Taylor was back to wedding planning. It is now 63 days away and we are stressed, overwhelmed, but so excited to finally be able to share our lives together. Till death do us part.
